REFRESH & REVITALISE
4 Ways to Revitalise Your Space this Spring
After a wonderful Winter warmed by cosy fires, atmospheric layered lighting, and sumptuous textures of throws and deep rugs, it is time to welcome in a new lightness. With Spring just around the corner, what better time to inject some colour or spring-like flavour into your interior scheme? Pastel watercolour rooms may not be for everyone, but as the days are beginning to grow longer and the sky is brightening, some of us would like to bring at least a little of this into our homes.
So whether you’re all in for injecting a serious dose of Spring, or just adding a hint here and there, we have some lovely examples to help you along.
Our partner GZID created this wonderfully light and bright, yet quietly sophisticated bedroom and bathroom for the teenage daughter of a longstanding client. It retains the femininity of the previous incarnation of this same room, but with a more sophisticated aesthetic. The jaw-droppingly beautiful wallpaper and fabrics are some of the many creations of the wonderful Jessica Zoob. Gemma Zimmerhansl, with the help and dedicated collaboration of her young client Greta, embraced the collection, ran with the concept and created this haven of bespoke drapery, bedding and scatter cushions, all finished off with specially selected trims and fringes.
All of the individual pieces such as the sumptuous deep blue velvet-clad chair are available to purchase through GZ Premium Collections, and if you’d like to venture down the route of bespoke soft furnishings our design team are on hand to help specify the right elements for you.
Dark colours also work very well within the lighter environment. Any of these gorgeous pieces would work as well with an entirely neutral colour palette, and would invoke a sense of dramatic impact against a dark backdrop of greys, blacks and dark blues.
For a calmer, more evocative entry into the warmer seasons, why not keep it neutral and add the interest and depth with the use of texture and subtle pattern, still embracing the floral essence of Spring, but without the use of colour. The beautiful, sophisticated bedding and cushions from Aztaro do just that, as you can see here. They would work equally well with some accents of blues, greens and reds.
Accents and Statement Pieces
Replacing all the furniture or redecorating the entire house for a new season aesthetic may not be practical for everyone, but introducing some elements of colour into the existing scheme can make even the most neutral palette lovers among us feel a little lighter. Carefully placed accessories, cushions and statement furniture pieces can all do wonders to elevate the mood and refresh the look and feel of your space.
